I thought I should point out my favorite tool that is indispensable for me to achieve my ~800 calorie per day diet.
MyFitnessPal.
This app / website has, like, every food imaginable under the sun in it’s database with all the nutrition facts you need for what you are putting into your body. Everything I need to know about total calories, protein, carbs, fat, cholesterol, sodium, etc. is contained there. So, it’s actually quite easy for me to calculate the total calories I’m eating in a day and per meal. Planning my meals ahead of time with the calculator really helps. This way, if I’m forced to go out to eat (which I was “forced” to do at my daughter’s birthday party recently =) I can look up the menu of the restaurant ahead of time and know exactly what I need to order if I’m going to hit my goals.
Managing your weight is really as straight-forward (note that I didn’t say, “easy”) as “Calories Out vs Calories In” when you have a tool like MyFitnessPal!
